JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective:
Incumbent is responsible assisting the AVP of Loan Operations with back room loan operations and general supervision of the Loan Operations Department. This position is part of the Lending Department with the incumbent reporting to the Assistant Vice President, Loan Operations. This position requires a very diligent, detail-oriented person who is a self-starter and very ambitious. It is a position that requires strong leadership and communication skills. A thorough understanding of the loan systems is essential.

Completion of all required internal training programs.
Essential Functions:

Perform supervisory duties.
Update loan rates within the host and document preparation programs.
Support other staff members with departmental functions including document preparation, boarding, review and imaging of new loans. Also, insurance tracking, daily and monthly general ledger reconciliations, processing of maintenance requests and paid loan processing.
Assist other Bank employees with lending related issues. This would include Call Center Staff with customer calls as well as branch personnel.
Preparation of various month end reports including BSA, new loans, and some sold loan reporting.
Assist other lending areas with monthly reconcilements.
Support AVP Loan Operations in maintaining proper coding of standard products within documentation preparation software. Ensuring closing documents are prepared in accordance with the Banks Credit Policy and Government regulations so the Bank remains compliant. (avg ? quarterly)
Maintain the Department's policy and procedural manual(s) ensuring it is kept up to date as systems and regulations change. (monthly)
Other Duties:
Serve as back up to other members of the department in their absence.
Perform specific projects as assigned.
Scanning loan files.
Support AVP Loan Operations with review of bank level coding for each loan product within host system. To ensure the system set up is consistent with the Banks Credit Policy. (as needed)
Support AVP of Loan Operations with for proper coding and handling of updates within ITI Premier and advising staff of enhancements and changes. (as needed)
Support AVP of Loan Operations in advising the retail lending group regarding training of all branch lenders on an ongoing basis in regard to Host system updates changes and other training issues. (as needed)
Work with the AVP of Loan Operations and the Banks Compliance Officer regarding compliance issues including annual HMDA reporting, reviewing on a quarterly basis for accuracy. (as needed)
Assist AVP of Loan Operations with the Banks Credit Reporting. Reviewing monthly exception reports and repairing exceptions as well as responding to disputes and inquiries. (as needed)
Other duties as assigned by management to assist in the efficient functioning of the department.

Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
Some flexibility in hours is necessary based on the location assignments, but the employee must be available during the "core" work hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Travel:
Travel for this position is limited to travel for meetings/training or helping other locations with staffing needs.
Required Education and Experience:
High school graduate or equivalent. Three years or more banking and lending experience or equivalent. Two-three years of loan operations and supervisory experience. Two-three years of accounting ? general ledger account reconciliation experience preferred.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Consumer loan documentation and home equity mortgage loan documentation experience a plus. LaserPro and/or DocMagic experience a plus.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
Strong clerical skills, good communication skills and professional appearance are necessary for this position. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to customers and other employees of the organization. Proficiency with a computer, adding machine, copier, fax machine, and other office equipment are required. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving customer relations issues. Familiarity with Microsoft Office.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
